Ruling on Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah Commercial Driver's License Masking Cases Webcast

Tuesday, July 21, 2015
12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. (MDT)

During 2014, The National Judicial College (NJC) presented a general overview of Commercial Driver’s Licensing (CDL) Laws and Enforcement issues for your state. If you were unable to participate in your state-specific webcast (Part I), you may find the recorded webcast on NJC’s website at www.cdlresources.org. We recommend that you view that webcast before participating in this series of webcasts (Part II). In Part II, NJC will address masking issues in a variety of hypothetical situations, trying to answer specific questions that traffic adjudicators raised during the 2014 webcasts. After this webcast, you will be able to:

1) Identify “masking” situations; and

2) Apply federal and state laws to avoid “masking.”

NJC is seeking approval from your state for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits. In the event we gain approval, we will ask you to complete and return the Certificate of Attendance form to our offices (Be sure to include your state bar number on the form). NJC will then submit your certificate of attendance credits to your State Board of CLE within the deadline specified by the state (usually 30 days following the webcast). Webcasts are considered self-study events under most state CLE rules and may have limitations, restrictions, exclusions as to credit filing. Please note: In the event we do not obtain approval from your state, our normal practice is to provide participants CLE credits via a uniform certificate of attendance form upon completion of the course. Individuals are responsible for filing this form with their states’ Continuing Legal Education Commissions, Boards or State Bar where required. While NJC courses are nationally recognized by CLE Commissions, Boards or State Bars, participants are asked to please follow their states’ specific filing rules for individuals to have CLE credits considered for approval.
