The Judicial Education Center is pleased to offer on-site mentoring as a new professional development option for Municipal Courts. What is On-Site Mentoring? Sometimes what you learn at educational conferences is difficult to apply in the “real world.” You may be uncertain about how to transfer the skills into an efficiently run court. Here is the opportunity to ask those questions in a one-on-one format. How Does it Work? At your invitation, we will come to observe you holding court, to review your files and to assess your court operations. Do you have a specific issue you need assistance with? Do you need help setting up systems? Do you just want someone to observe and give you constructive comments about your courtroom presence? If you have any of the above needs -- or some we haven’t thought of -- we will come to you and spend either a half or full day with you. We will meet with you, and your court staff if requested, and give you feedback as an aid to your professional development. So, Who's Your Mentor? Our on-site visitor/mentor is Judith Olean, Chair of the Paralegal Program at Central New Mexico Community College, author of the Municipal Benchbook and other resource manuals, and frequent trainer for JEC. Interested? Arrange a Time with Judi. To schedule a time with Judi, please check her availability below.
Once you've chosen a time based on Judi's availability, please email Tony Cornay at cornay@law.unm.edu with the following information.
JEC will then be back in touch with you to discuss the details of your needs and to confirm the date for your court visit. Questions? Please contact our Education Manager, Tony Cornay - (505) 277-0734, cornay@law.unm.edu.
