Exceptions - Medical Reports

Assume that a victim of child abuse has told her psychiatrist the name of the perpetrator of the abuse. Is the psychiatrist’s report identifying the perpetrator admissible into evidence?
  1. Admissible evidence if the psychiatrist establishes that the identity of the perpetrator is reasonably pertinent to medical diagnosis or treatment.
  2. Inadmissible hearsay; psychiatrist’s reports aren’t medical reports.
