These videos are designed to be viewed using
the RealPlayer plug-in (version 8 or newer*).
Problem: No Video
If you are unable to view the video, then probably you either
don't have the plug-in or you don't have RealPlayer version
8 or later. You will need to download and install this plug-in.
If you are running Windows 95 or better, go
to
http://www.real.com/products/player/downloadrealplayer.html
and click on the FREE Basic player.
If you are running Windows 3.11, go to
http://egg.real.com/rndl/blackjack.html
From there fill out the form. (If you don't
know how to answer the questions about your computer or your connection,
ask your site coordinator or contact
JID.) You will then be asked to choose a download location.
Choose a U.S. location. A Save As dialog box will pop up. Save
the Realplayer file anywhere you want on your C drive (or your
network drive if you will be doing this for multiple machines),
but please make sure you remember where you put it.
(Downloading the file can take anywhere from
less than a minute to two hours depending on your connection and
Internet traffic to the site. You may want to start this process
before you are leaving the office for a time.)
You will then need to find that file in Windows
Explorer or File Manager and double-click on it to install
the Real Player program. An installation wizard will guide you
through the process. The install should take just a few minutes.
If you get an error message it is possible that the site coordinator
may need to log on to your computer using the site coordinator
username and password.)
Problem: No Sound
If you don't have sound, you either need to adjust the volume
or it is possible that your computer does not have sound capability.
First make sure your speakers are on, then check
the volume. (If you don't have speakers, contact
JID.)There are two main places to check: in the RealPlayer
window and on your Start bar.
In the RealPlayer window the volume control
is a slider located on the lower right side. There is also a Mute
button that should NOT be activated. Check both.
On your Start bar, look at the lower right part
of the bar, called the tray. You will see a speaker or megaphone
icon there. Click on it and adjust the volume using the slider.
If you don't see the icon, your sound hardware may have been disabled.
Contact JID.
