C. Webinars:

  • Webinar 5, August 14, 2018: Emerging Issues in Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, including a View from the Family Court Bench - This webinar focuses on emerging and advanced issues regarding SIJS.  Ms. Martin reports on adjudication trends for SIJS cases and addresses the implications for immigrant youth, attorneys, and judges in New Mexico.  Judge Lavelle provides his perspectives on SIJS issues from the family court bench.  This session particularly focuses on where SIJS issues arise in family court matters, including domestic violence matters.  The webinar is relevant for judges, hearing officers and other court staff.
