Opinions 17-03 (Ex Parte Communication, Volunteer Service) and 17-04 (Charitable Donation) are now available on JEC's website.
New advisory opinions from the Advisory Committee on the Code of Judicial Conduct are available under Advisory Opinions in the Manuals & resources section of JEC's website. Opinion 17-03 addresses a judge writing articles for a local paper in which the judge offers volunteer services and invites the public to use the judge's personal email address. Opinion 17-04 addresses a situation in which a court is being asked to participate in a county government fundraising campaign.
