New Code of Judicial Conduct Advisory Opinions for 2016

Opinions 16-03 (Publication), 16-04 (Recusal), and 16-05 (Spouse's Employment) are now available on JEC's website.

Three new advisory opinions from the Advisory Committee on the Code of Judicial Conduct are available under Advisory Opinions in the Manuals & resources section of JEC's website. Opinion 16-03 addresses whether a judge who does not hear death penalty cases may publish an article concerning the death penalty. Opinion 16-03 addresses whether a judge should recuse if the judge has a continual business relationship with a bank filing a foreclosure suit before the judge. And Opinion 16-05 addresses whether a judge is disqualified from addressing warrant requests on cases when the judge's spouse holds a non-supervisory position with the police department.
