National Judicial College Fourth Amendment: Comprehensive Search & Seizure course to be held in Santa Fe at the Inn & Spa at Loretto from June 19-22, 2017

The National Judicial College is bringing its 4-day Fourth Amendment: Comprehensive Search & Seizure course to Santa Fe in the summer of 2017 (June 19 -22, 2017). The New Mexico Judicial Education Center has limited funding to help New Mexico judges attend this highly ranked judicial education program.

The National Judicial College (NJC) is bringing its Fourth Amendment: Comprehensive Search & Seizure course to New Mexico. The 4-day course will be held June 19 -22, 2017 in Santa Fe at the Inn & Spa at Loretto. Here is the NJC's short description of their 4th Amendment course:

When is a search or seizure justified? When does a seizure occur? Who has standing to challenge? When is a warrant needed? If the amendment is violated, does the exclusionary rule apply? Along with computers and digital evidence, the course examines consent searches, warrant execution issues, and searches without warrants including exigent circumstances, community caretaking, inventory searches, automobile searches, frisks, and searches incident to arrest.

Limited funding is available from the New Mexico Judicial Education Center (JEC) for NM Judges to attend NJC courses.
